Her Excellency, the Honourable Sam Mostyn is Australia’s Governor General. She has recently supported a campaign to improve civics scores among our youth.

Civics education is of fundamental importance in the view of Australians for Better Government and an area we wish to be active.

We are worried however, with Sam Mostyn interweaving ‘misinformation and disinformation’ into her push for a better understanding of civics amongst our youth.

Speaking on her advocacy for the civics program in a recent ABC News article, Mostyn said, “I think misinformation and disinformation is the great scourge of our time".

The big question is - who decides what is misinformation and disinformation?

A key concern of ABG is that Sam Mostyn is not an elected Governor-General, she was ‘selected’ by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

The Australian people have zero say in selecting our Governor-General and the agenda that comes along with that person. Coupled with this, there is no clear separation between the Legislative and Executive branches when the PM makes this selection.

Instead, ABG strongly advocates for our Governor-General to be ELECTED by the Australian people.

This coming Sunday, May 25, ABG will be holding an event at the Warrawee Club in Sydney titled: ‘The Next Step - What’s Next for Australia Post-Election?’. It will be an important discussion of Australia’s political future.

We encourage you to be a part of this event if you are in Sydney. We have a 2-for-1 deal at the moment if you buy your tickets online, please visit abgfundraiser.eventbrite.com.

We will also be holding a raffle with some excellent prizes - see below.

ABG can only grow and be stronger with your support, so we hope you can make it!

Many thanks,

Steven Tripp

ABG President

Make it stand out

The election is finally over and for a lot of you, you deserve a well earned break.

Despite who is in Government, or which party is dominant, the people of Australia can still achieve results.

That is the aim of Australians for Better Government.

No longer can we rely on politicians or political parties to drive much needed change in this Country. We need a movement of Australians to drive that change.

Our event on Sunday, May 25 at the Warrawee Club in Warrawee will have the Hon. John Ruddick and Darren De Bortoli from De Bortoli wines to speak, along with ABG Co-founder, Kevin Loughrey, ABG President Steven Tripp and Campbelltown City Councillor Adam Zahra.

This will be an important next step in beginning the discussion on the political reforms we want to see take place in Australia.

I hope you all can make it. For tickets, please visit: abgfundraiser.eventbrite.com
