PRESS RELEASE: ABG Unites Reform Groups for Landmark ‘EMPOWERED’ Event in Gympie
Grassroots leaders join forces to fix Australia’s system of government – for the benefit of all Australians
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Sydney, 10 August 2026 – Australians for Better Government (ABG) will host EMPOWERED – Strengthening Australia for a Better Future on Saturday 15 August 2026, 5:00–8:00pm AEST at Gympie Bowls Club, 16 Bowlers Drive, Southside QLD.
This high-impact conference unites leading reform organisations and independent voices determined to improve the performance of Australia’s suboptimal governmental structures and Constitution.
ABG is deliberately bringing together groups including the Australian Lobby Group, Let’s Rethink Renewables, Australians for Australia and Close the Gap Research, so that everyday Australians – not career politicians – drive the changes needed for a freer, fairer and more accountable nation.
Speakers include:
Dr Gary Johns – former Keating Government Minister, Chairman of Close the Gap Research and notable author
Katy McCallum – One Nation’s Wide Bay Representative and President of Let’s Rethink Renewables
Scott Challen – Co-founder of the Australian Lobby Group
Debra Yuille – Founder of Australians for Australia
Steven Tripp – President of Australians for Better Government
Attendees will also be able to purchase a copy of Dr Johns’ new book ‘Public Health: An Unhealthy Conceit’.
“Australia’s are feeling abandoned by Government,” said ABG President Steven Tripp. “By uniting leading reform organisations we are building real momentum for constitutional and structural reform that puts the Australian people first. ‘Empowered’ will be a powerful demonstration that change is possible when we collaborate on solutions and stand together.”
“Events like Empowered are exciting opportunities to engage in solutions-focused discussion and genuine networking with fellow change-makers,” Mr Tripp added.
