Australians for Better Government Newsletter 13

It was fantastic to meet so many great people in Adelaide at ABG Revival last Sunday. It proves that there a lot good people in this Country who are interested in the solutions and proposals that ABG are presenting for better Government.

Our message is clearly resonating with people around Australia.

In my speech I posed the question: Why should we want better Government?

Whether someone chooses to be apathetic or not, Government has an impact on the life and living standards of all Australians.

A study of history shows that a lack of freedom, economic decline, famines, war and civil unrest are all the result of bad Government.

But what are the benefits of good Government?

Good Government should foster a country that is strong, prosperous, safe and free. Government should provide a country with all the opportunities to achieve its true potential.

Good Government should also protect our culture. It should celebrate and foster it. It should protect it. It should also define it - but in a way that does not make us feel guilty of our culture.

Good Government should protect the individual. Government should be a safe-guard against attacks on an individual’s thoughts, expressions, and speech. Good Government should be dedicated to building an environment where individuals are given the opportunities to succeed and be themselves.

Above all else, good Government should encourage and protect families. A strong country is built on the back of strong, prosperous, safe and free families. We should all want a successful country that we can leave for our children and grandchildren.

With the above in mind, ABG dedicates ourselves to our mission for better Government in Australia. We will continue to push hard in proposing our solutions for better Government to the Australian people.

We cannot act alone however. Our movement will only grow with your support. If you haven’t already, please consider becoming an ABG Member - click here

The more members we have, the stronger and more persuasive our movement will be.

Many thanks,

Steven Tripp - ABG President

EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST

Australians for Better Government is excited to announce that it is our intention to launch an ABG Youth Movement.

The group will be open to anyone under the age of 21 and will start off being regular Zoom meetings, where Youth Members can interact with an expert of a particular field.

Topics of discussion will relate to Australian History, the Constitution and Civics (the study of the rights and duties of citizenship, including how governments work and how individuals can participate in their community).

We believe in and have faith in our Youth. ABG feels that this will be a beneficial platform to encourage our Youth to begin to think about the future of Australia and what better Government might look like for all generations.

We are currently taking expressions of interest. If you know of anyone under 21 that would be interested, please email: info@australiansforbetter.com and we will be in touch.

THE VIBE WITH Mike Ryan

ABG President Steven Tripp was a special guest on The Vibe with Mike Ryan to discuss issues with infrastructure projects on the Gold Coast.

As with all the problems we face, bad Government plays its part. In this interview, Steven details why the process of how Ministers are selected needs to be reformed. Currently, sub-optimal politicians are being appointed to Ministries and are ultimately delivering poor outcomes for voters and taxpayers.
